‘From the Grassroots: An Oral History of Community Politics in Devon’ ran between 2013 and 2015. Working with volunteers and local partners, all funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (then Heritage Lottery Fund), we created a sound archive of people involved in Devon’s community politics after the Second World War.
This archive is held at the Devon Heritage Centre, Exeter and remains a valuable resource for those interested in Devon’s rich political past.
In addition to creating the archive, we held talks, lectures and witness seminars, trained volunteers in oral history interviewing and digital storytelling, created educational materials for schools and toured an exhibition around the county. The project was run by Dr Kayleigh Milden who was based at the Devon Heritage Centre.
